Note:  Unlikely though it may seem, another John Woollett married a different Eliza Town in Strood, Kent, in 1855.  This caused some confusion until the "real" John and Eliza were located.  It is not known if they are related in any way.

The marriage certificate shows:-
John a 25 year old bachelor resident in Langley at the time of the marriage to Eliza Town a 21 year old spinster also resident in Langley.  They were married after banns.  The two witnesses are shown as Harrey Woollett and Hannah Morgan.

    Thought to have died when Ethel was about 10 years old.  Possibly in childbirth or of breast cancer.  The death certificate shows that she died age 40 in Kings College Hospital in London.
    The death is registered in Strand, London.  The cause of death is shown as Puerperal Septicaemia, Phlegmania Dolens.  Puerperal meaning "relating to childbirth, the time from onset of labour to return to normal state".
    The death certificate, issued on 24th October 1899, gives the informant as John Woollett, widower of the deceased, of 4 Brighton Road, East Ham.

    It has been suggested that probably lived at Oare near Faversham but not shown in the 1891 census for that area.

    The 1881 Kent census shows an Eliza Town age 21 (born abt 1860) birthplace Langley, Kent. Unmarried servant to Robert Barling in Maidstone.

    The date of birth as calculated from the death certificate in 1899 age 40 is about 1859.
    The date of birth as calculated from the marriage certificate in 1883 age 21 is about 1862.
