Notes
- Hi Les
I just found the marriage record for my Charles Woollett and Mary Ann Annette Purdie, married April 4, 1842 at St. John's Parish, Islington, England and I sent for the certificate and it just arrived. They both lived in Holloway at the time of their marriage. Charles' father is listed as John Woollett, and Mary Ann Annette's father was Thomas Purdie. Unfortunately no birth dates or mothers' names, a big disappointment. Charles' position seems to say Gent - can you explain that to me? Please see the attachment. I have not yet updated my web page listing.

Have you any info on this family?? Charles and Mary Ann emigrated to the US between 1842 and 1849 and their first child Robert was born in 1850 in Chicago. Charles' mother also evidently came here as well as 2 sisters. They had lived in Holloway (Middlesex), but I still don't have a birth location for them. I'd appreciate it if you could give me any insight into this family. At least I now have them back another generation but now I am lost as to how to proceed.
If one lived in the Islington area, where would be the most likely port of departure for the US?
Thanks
