Mines statement records an injury to the head from a fall of coal or fireclay
on the 19th May 1899 with his death the following day.
Dobson Death Register entry: Date of death - 19th March Aged 25.
Married - Brunnerton to Martha Ada SMITH at 23 years.
Born - 1874 - Islington, Durham. Father - Robert, miner.
Mother - Mary Ann DAGLISH. Son - 4 months old. Cororner's Court and Jury

From the story my Father (Abner) told me, he was walking out of the mine with
the others at the end of his shift, nearly reaching the tunnel entrance. They
heard a noise and he happened to stop and look up just as a small piece of
rock connected him on the forehead, as far as Dad new killing him instantly.
